So I have a guy friend we’ve been friends for about almost 2 year. We talk almost every day hang out often or what have you. Have flirted slightly not much and kissed one time after a a conversation on a drunk night. Other than that everything has been pretty platonic tho I do like him and there was time he said the same but again it’s was kind of brushed off and we’ve been great friends. We nvr go more than a day without talking to eachother.

today he called me saying how he really values our friendship and I asked him why and he’s said because it’s genuine and a lot of his friendships got ruined from sex. Which I agree I value our friendship too but then I’m like is it really genuine on my part because I really wouldn’t mind having sex with the man😂🤦‍♀️. I always feel like there’s more for us. Am I delusional lol that’s why I titled this what’s wrong with me.

A lot of people believe sex creates the bond which clearly isn’t true. I say that because after all this time with my friend and I we clearly have a bond. He doesn’t go without some type of communication and makes sure we get sushi every Tuesday. I like our friendship but it gets hard at times because I like him.& he’s admitted the same but nothing has happened.

But u gave great advice to not push. I’ll just enjoy our moments as they are.

It’s the opposite as you are genuine…you know the Deal about what’s going on. Having to conceal it because of circumstances probably does not feel Authentic to you.
All you can do is ride it out within the confines or parameters allowed. Know when you are being tested too. Statements like he made about “ruining with sex” are often tests. You test too.
