Trying for a baby with my ex?

So, Myself and ex partner are trying for a baby. I still love him and vice versa, yet he doesn’t want to be in a relationship with me. Nothing has changed since we split 7yrs ago, we still live together as if we are still a couple. What I want to know is WHY, he doesn’t want to be with me?
