UGH How do I stop fiance countering pre-nup argument with the same statement every time?

We've been engaged for about 5 months, and he earns about 5x what I do, and has a few properties including owning his house and he wants a pre-nup to protect such, and I said to him that asking for a pre-nup means you are just prepared for the marriage to fail and he always comes back with "if you aren't intending to leave then there should be no problem with you signing it" how do I counter this, which I think is non-valid anyway because if it does end I should get something.

If it does end no you shouldn’t get anything other than what two have accumulated together. This is the type of mentality that pushes men away. He earned everything he has up until meeting you, you didn’t. So no you don’t get that. That’s very smart of him. In fact if you were the one who owned the property I’d advise you to do the same. Especially in this day and age most people don’t stay together long. He’s right as well. If you’re so sure that you two will be together forever than you shouldn’t have a problem signing it. Maybe it could be rewritten later on that if he dies then yes you’d inherit that, unless he already has children to which he may want to give it to them. It’s funny how women jump on a man for not respecting her wishes but when it comes to his wishes especially financially women don’t want to respect his wishes. I’m ok w you getting part of whatever you two earn together, but what he’s already established, that’s off limits. I don’t k ow what would make you think you’re entitled to that.

He is right and you are wrong. If it was me I would leave you for refusing. Anyone against a prenuptial agreement just wants to steal what the other person has worked for and earned.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to prepare and protect himself from a potential problem. From your statement, you are exactly the kind of woman that men need a prenuptial agreement for.

What a load of crap. Women initiate the majority of divorces, get the majority of custody and the majority of financials, a man with assets is an idiot for not getting a pre-nup.

Furthermore, if you have to ask for a pre-nup, what that really says is that you don't know your fiancée well-enough to know how she would respond. In that case, he shouldn't marry her anyway because he doesn't know her well-enough to make her his wife.

People in love - even when the marriage dissolves - don't attack one-another. Sadly, so many divorces are because the people who got married didn't know each other to begin with.
