Why do some couples never mention they’re other half?

If it's a boyfriend and girlfriend they could break up and are probably looking for an alternate solution bc their relationship sucks. I always wondered this until a girl that had one never told me until later bc she was looking for an alternate solution and she found out that i was it and i told her to wait some more time bc anyone i date i have to know for about a year friendship before relationship that's how i work usually.

Oh well me and my boyfriend don't post each other on social media for different reasons. But i have him as my cover photo because i couldn't resist it lol

But is it somthing your assuming at over them simply not posting about each other many don't see a point of showing off there relationship
