So, my boyfriend is some type of corporate lawyer, makes good money, owns his own house, pays for all our dates etc, I moved in a few weeks ago and he doesn't charge me rent or anything, the only thing I chip in for is groceries, but I have to pay my own bills like cell phone etc.
He's a great guy and generous, I knew he'd been married before but he didn't talk much about it.
Anyway she messages me on Facebook and tells me to watch myself and be careful, when they divorced she said she got practically nothing, no alimony just a few thousand dollars etc because he has his finances structured in a way that he technically owns nothing it's in a trust and because he made her work full time during marriage even though he could afford not to she can't get alimony.
I dont' know what to make of this, do I Say something to him, do I maybe look around his financials etc?
I don't want to end up screwed up like her and I was under the impression after marriage someone with that much moeny wouldn't expect me to work.
