Why do many cheaters still want their partners?

If the cheating was generally calculated and planned, then why are they begging for 2nd chances when caught?

If they cheated then they do cheaters still want their partners? Why aren't they happy with the person they cheated with?

I don't understand. They obviously stepped out of the relationship and planned the cheating, were happy about it while cheating.
So why is it different when caught? Why are they fighting to have their partners back? Why do they still want their partners back?

What I don't understand is why so much effort to cheat if most end up making a whole 360° turn and beg for another chance.

Men love their wives, but have a high sex drive that's a separate thing from love for their wife. Therefore, what they're really begging for is to still be together but potentially still will cheat again

I see the begging for 2nd chance in some women too. They cheat but want to then be taken back.

East or west, home is best. When one dates another, the reason behind irrespective whether of it being good or bad creates some form of inner security, a comfort zone to fall upon, naturally, our minds tend to focus on what we seek rather than what we already have because there is no fear of losing it and only refocuses when threatened or about to loose what we already have.

Their logic doesn't make sense though. This means they're trying to find ways to not get caught again. That's still too much effort for nothing. They're gaining nothing out of that.

Even if they get taken back, they are in a relationship that will never be the same and they will have to deal with getting distrusted for the longest.
