I’m engaged about to be married next year. I went to the doctor today and found out I have syphilis. I had a wild sexual past & never cheated on him (been together for 3 years) . I’m stressed because I don't know how to deal with it emotionally and mentally and I don’t want to ruin our relationship. He recently went to the doctor and he’s clean for sure but I don't know what to do. I don’t want to ruin our marriage before it even starts. Seems like my past is catching up to me.

Okay so I got more results back. I don’t have it, I just have the antibodies which will most likely be there forever but on the bright side i do not current have it!! I cried so hard

My chick, after being with her for about 6 months suddenly supplied the medicine once the razor blade peeing started. Obviously, she cheated. She lied and I got a partial story that the medicine was given to her for some other guy too. I know I didn't cheat... and she just magically had the meds for it... The same organization that supplies the abortions (I can't remember the name) is what gave her the meds.

Either way, the dude is not going to be happy about it. You're going to look sus even if you two have been together less than 3 months. Prepare for that shit.

Do whatever your doctor recommends to treat the syphilis and make sure your fiancé understands what you're doing. And, of course, avoid intercourse with him until you're declared clean. Check with your doctor to see if oral sex is okay.

I'm assuming that he knows about this, since he got tested, so if you've never cheated on him, then I don't quite understand the problem.

I have gotten any meds to get treated yet. He doesn’t the extent of my past but he doesn’t know about this Std at all…I’m honestly ashamed.

I still don't think it's all that bad, really. So he doesn't know all of the details of your past, but does he really need to?

It only takes one partner, and one time, to contract an STD, so just the fact that you have one doesn't automatically mean he's going to assume you slept with a bunch of men.

Thankfully it's one that can be cured, and he hasn't contracted it, anyway. You can get treatment, and the problem should be solved. You don't have anything to be ashamed of.

I can understand you being scared, but I really don't think this is likely to cause any lasting problems. Once you get some medicine from your doctor, you can get this cleared up, and go on to have a happy marriage. 🙂

Hopefully you have started antibiotics and it will clear itself up in a few weeks. It is definitely possible to get away with this but is this the best way to start a marriage.

Has it developed into tertiary yet? You need to get it treated ASAP. Later stages of untreated can cause all sorts of problems
