Yes, usually I need space to recover and to process what happened and people wantint to help me are generally a burden to "manage" rather than a help (even though they have good intentions), so I become unavailable until I recover.
But if I am hurt by a person and intend to continue the relation with them, then I don't push this person away at all and discuss the problem to all its extent without giving any silent treatment or other abusive reactions of this sort. Discussion and concluding it with a plan.
Now what this picture describes (and that is not my case) is called "Fearful/Anxious attachment style", that brings you to be a "Fearful Avoidant", there is even a Reddit for that, which I recommend if you struggle with this kind of problems.
Yes, I do. I've been doing that for years. I try not to but sometimes I just can't stop pushing people I love especially if it's my partner away when I'm hurt by something they said or did or my life is a mess and I have no idea how to deal with and I feel so hurt and lost, so I just push them away and go inside a shell until I'm in a better state of mind.
I had a girl do this to me. Confusing as hell. She wanted to spend time with me, made excuses to see me, gave me keys to her place. Yet she refused to answer my texts while weirdly acknowledging she read them, she randomly ghosted me for months at a time, told me I "trapped" her and i needed to stay away.
I broke up with her. She totally fell apart afterwards.
I never understood it.
nope... but I used to do some of that when I was a young kid, and a teen
today, I just reach, instead

Yes I do , which is why I’m going back to therapy tomorrow. I want to learn how to overcome it and be strong/ confident enough to realize I can put my full love out there
Because you don’t want to be hurt again
Yes, this is true. Even though I recognize my "reactions" and if I don't stay silent or something, I will let (despite the pain I might feel) know to the other person that I feel hurt, in pain, etc and might not react. To give me time. Etc
it depends on the person and the nature of our relationship… with 98% of the people, I don’t necessarily push them away, I just simply do not share my feelings like that. the remaining 2% are the people that can, make me release all of those negative feelings just by seeing or being near them… they’re like an emotional 911, and they do know me well enough to tell, when I’m not feeling okay… so it’s also harder to “push them away”.
I always have a strong urge to, but I'm working on letting people in, I grew up learning not to trust people so I'm slowly breaking down that habit, it's really difficult but I do think I'm getting better
Yes, I can become overwhelmed by things in life, and my first reaction to that is usually to push people away. I don't mean anything bad by it, I just need my space.
yes, and thats okay cause no one is going to 'solve' it but myself and being alone helps.
yes. friends, some family & gag users
