Is it fair to break up with someone that's distrustful from the beginning?

Even if you were to pass all their BS plots/tests and you've proven them wrong, is it still ok to break up with them?

The tables pretty much flipped by them. How are you going to trust them when they didn't trust you?

Now it's you that doesn't trust them. Then since there is no trust, there is no relationship anyone and probably never was since they were distrusting from the start.

Anyone who doesn't trust you for reasons that you've proved are wrong all along is not worth your time.

There are people who are, well, clinically jealous, suspicious and distrustful. You can't disabuse people like this of what they believe is true of EVERYONE!

At face value your question is absolutely reasonable as we don't need extra nonsense in life. If he is supposedly destroyed as you said from his past relationships then there maybe some "wiggle room" to work with him to calm his fears. However, if there comes a point where YOU feel there is nothing more you can do because his anxieties get the best of him then its no longer your problem as he needs something like counselling.
