Is it weird in a relationship to be with someone who always wants you to pay them back?

Maybe it’s just me but when I buy my partner things like an expensive drink or stuff for their dog or anything in general I don’t tell them oh you need to pay me back.. maybe that’s just me but am I the only one that thinks that’s kinda weird? Or is it just me?

I find a scenario where someone always expects something in return to be both disheartening and frightening. Firstly, he never gives purely as everything is about him as there is an expectation of Return in all he does. That's enough for me to exit the relationship.

It is disheartening because that kind of behavior will eventually keep me limp... If I don't respect I'm not going to F- you and I will be on my way.

I would say there is a difference between gifts and general stuff I don't need to ask because my partner just will unless I state she dont need too

This guy is a tight ass! A real cheapskate! Get used to him being that way, because they don't change.
You on the other hand give with your heart and don't want any monetary compensation for being a thoughtful, sweet, giving person.
So, yes, it is weird.
