Would you rather be in a romantic relationship that’s perfect or in a relationship thats always rocky but honest?

A romantic relationship that's perfect. Ignorance is bliss. For example I have a great relationship with my girlfriend. She told me she was a virgin when we first met, and it took me six months to sleep with her. While certain things I've experienced with her, seen, felt, etc. and her reaction our first time tells me that she was telling the truth about being fully inexperienced ultimately it could be a lie.

What if we keep dating, get engaged this year, get married then have children. I always see her as a sweet girl who saved herself for me.

OR, what if she told me she had sex with an ex a couple times, regretted it, then held off on sex with the intention of waiting until marriage- and came clean after we get engaged? I'd definitely see her differently, probably treat her different, especially if she told me after this point. Honesty is good when there's nothing hurtful to tell, but it can be incredibly damaging if there is.

I've never told her about how many girls I've been with, or what I was doing the months before we started dating. Would it be "honest" if I did? Sure, but will it help the relationship, or make her feel good? Definitely not.

I agree with all the users who have said that if it's perfect you'll have honesty also or that it can't be perfect without honesty...but... for the sake of the question (which I really like) I'd take perfect. Drama and rocky suck big time. Perfect doesn't actually mean dishonest. It might be polite standoff in the case of our scenario. :)

Damn I was lucky I even had a relationship 2 years ago with my ex who was rocky but at least he was loyal to me.. it’s been a needle in a haystack now trying to find a loyal guy who respects me. My recent ex cheated and other guys I’ve met it just hasn’t clicked because they only want sex or to be fuck buddies. I don’t know what to do no more really. Nothing has made sense.

You need to define perfect because that can mean different things to different people. To me a perfect relationship is one where we’re honest but it’s not that rocky. We have ups and downs but can work through them more easily than would happen in a rocky relationship.

every relationship is going to have some problems some bumps in the road that's when good communication listening and understanding come into play. and nobody is perfect but there are people who are "perfect" for that particular person which in all reality is mostly compatible or highly compatible. to call anyone perfect is a huge stretch since perfection doesn't unless you're God or some higher form of power
