Is it okay to miss a friend?

so me and a friend were slightly flirting before and now he says he misses me. i'm now taken so i'm not sure what to reply, so i asked my other friend to help. he said that saying 'i miss you' to a friend isn't disloyal, but i'm not very sure-

But here's the thing: you don't have to miss each other. You can still talk to them. Just because you're taken doesn't mean you don't get to have friends -- even ones of the opposite gender.
