If we’re going super deep, then I would say that I am my sentient consciousness.

To understand who one is, they can ask themselves, “Who am I not?”

I am not the things I buy. I am not the clothes that I wear. I am more than the city I was born in. I am more than the tone of my skin.

Who someone is lies in their soul, their essence, their spirit.

It’s not even what they do, it’s WHY they do what they do.

Motives, intentions, values, and the heart behind everything they say and do.

If we are going beyond sentient consciousness and into the things that resonate with my soul…

I value love, intimacy, closeness, and bond. I value growth, ambition, and excellence. I value creativity, humor, adventure, and fun. I value passion, depth, and authenticity.

I am both stoic and calm yet passionate and adventurous. I appreciate solitude but I also enjoy elevating the energy within a room. I like to get deep and philosophical yet I also like to crack jokes. I appreciate both sophistication and simplicity. I’m very ambitious, yet also a minimalist. I have a warrior spirit and there has always been a fight in me, but I know how to control that flame and use it for good.

Those are ways to describe how I am.

Yet WHO I am, I suppose remains the same: I am my sentient consciousness. I am the one who makes my conscious decisions and choices.

And the accumulation of my choices and experiences shape HOW I am and how I may be described.

What about identity? What about identifying as something? You mean chosen identity? That’s a construct of the mind. That’s subjective. How someone identifies themselves is valid within their own subjective reality.

One can identify as something and BE that something within their subjective reality.

But, if someone outside does not acknowledge it, then let them be.

Who we are does not need to be validated by the approval and opinions of others. If you know thyself, you can and should be your own validation. You cannot lie to yourself when you look yourself in the mirror. You can see what they cannot see.

We are not what other people say we are. We are who we are. Whether or not other people see it. Whether or not WE see it. But with enough deep reflection one WILL know who they are, when they are candid, vulnerable, and honest with themselves.

I like to identify with my values. “I am a ____ person.” or “I am a person that values ____.” And, I’ve stated my values earlier. 🙂

I believe using labels and titles beyond one’s values should be done loosely, because there is so much division in the world. And the moment there is a disagreement or dislike for certain labels, drama and fights occur. Lack of validation, or the presence of disapproval or disagreement, then suddenly becomes a personal attack, and people feel compelled to defend themselves because questioning their label turns into an existential crisis.

I'm a husband, father, son, and brother.

I care deeply.

I'm all in. I will be there for you when you need me and I'll leave you alone when that's what you want.

I notice details. I'm gonna notice your new earrings or the stitching on your suit or when you switch to Italian Sweet Cream creamer in your coffee from the Vanilla Nutmeg flavor. I'm also going to notice when you're down or sad or mad and I'm going to care.

I'm a fixer (but don't ask me to work plumbing; that's a joke). I like to tackle problems and fix them so other people don't have to.

If you ghost me or block, my assumption is it's my fault and it gnaws at me.

I expect punctuality, and thoughtfulness, and kindness and I'll give the same to you.

You'll find my clothes clean and wrinkle free but I'm just as comfortable in jeans and a hoodie as I am a tuxedo or custom tailored suit.

I'm not much of a drinker but I'll be your wingman and your driver. I can eat BBQ with my hands with you or join you at a place where there's a special fork for every dish.

I'll be your friend and I'll be it through [fill in the blank]. I'll give you advice, a shoulder to cry on or just "be there".

I cry.

I'll be your champion and your defender.

I like cats and coffee and caramel.

I write.

I'm a nice person who's willing to be your friend.

I’d like to share.. for the coolness factor.. lol

but at the same time, the seriousness of it, requires I keep it as basic as possible.

Why?

people would get jealous, others would work against it. Etc.

I rather describe my self now, with all this being said, as someone by and from what I have done and want to do-

not the things I like or which just seem ‘nice.’

Not just mere qualities like “funny,” kind, or so. Not “melancholic,” or “rude” (potentially) by some lol

I rather be known for this:

Someone who wants to help the world on ALL planes, and once everything is completely neutralized and supported, the person who will walk away and let others maintain it as they’d like to- with their own style and community, as I went to live in solitude, but ALL of us, in a peaceful world: absent of pain, hostility, suffering, and piles of death.

Instead, I would be the, yes…

‘Usher of Paradise.’

That is who I am.

Thats all I wish to be known for.. for a time, and then I wish to enjoy the fruits of my labor, along with everyone I had worked for and served.

I don’t care about status and/or reputation.

I just want things to work well.. so we can live well 🙏

A ghost. I'm a funkin' ghost.

So i'm like 5'7 or whatever and I am quiet af. I'm not depressed or wanting to die, so not that kind of ghost. I've been known to arrive behind someone and I just say "hey"

I am my morals, my priorities as well as my likes and dislikes.

I am also the sum of my lifes experiences and the conclusions I drew from them.

I am what I have learned but also defined by everything that I rejected as trivial or untrue.
