Wife makes more money than me. Would you feel like you’re not doing part in the relationship?

Me (33) and my wife (25) have been together overall for almost 8 years. But have been married since 2020.

Early in our relationship, I used to make more money and I felt like I was doing my duty by providing for the woman I love.

Last year she graduated from college and is the official breadwinner between us despite me making good money as well.

I feel terrible for feeling this way and know it’s a good thing. But how do I get over feeling like a failure in our marriage?

You get over it by making a mature choice and getting over it. This is your choice and founded in reality. Be grateful that you both have jobs. Who makes how much is not relevant.

Yeah my ego was getting in the way and I realized. We have a house, good money, and an awesome life. Been together almost 8 years and still going strong.

I make more than my partner also. But that’s because we are in different career field.
I don’t think it’s really impacted us and I hope you don’t feel that way also. Having extra income will help you guys save for holidays, and emergencies. As long as the general living expenses are sorted and y’all living your best life, don’t let it stress you.
I’m sure this means she buys nice things for the both of you.

Same here. I never cheated on anyone and no girlfriend ever cheated on me. They were all good girls with healthy values and normal hopes and dreams. In fact, I was the one who was a clueless dick and eventually left them. In retrospect, though, it was best for everyone concerned.

I've been married for almost 26 years and my wife and I trust each other completely.
