This should be obvious but I’m gonna mention it anyways, sexual relationships between adults and minors is wrong. I’m saying this because some people believe that young teens can “consent.”

not too long ago I had an argument with a dude on here who was defending R Kelly for marrying Aliyah when she was 14/15 and he was 27.

His argument was that she “consented” and even sang a song about how “age isn’t nothing but a number”

but at the end of the day, even if she believed she consented, she’s a child who isn’t anywhere near being fully mentally developed yet. it’s up to the adult to realize that the relationship is wrong and the adult has power over the child.

Many young teens think it’s cool to be in relationships with older people but majority of the time, they don’t realize how gross and disgusting that was until they become an adult themselves.
I’ve heard countless stories of girls who dated older men when they were teens and thought it was okay at the time because it was “their choice. then they realize that they were taken advantage of once they get older.

Consenting is essential, but even if someone consents doesn't mean they are in their right mind. There are consequences that can show up afterwards.

That said, society doesn't have power to intervene at some point and let life take it's course. But If society ends up paying the price, then we should be able to interject...

Excluding minors (I think you are not implying them in your question) I believe it's anyway wrong where there is a clear unbalanced level of "awareness", which is built through experiences, maturity, surviving some mistakes and self-consciousness.
The problem is that sometimes what looks like consent is in fact indirect coercition or manipulation and it's difficult to draw the line without going really in depth within the couple. Plus, some victims of manipulation believe they are consenting and will even defend their abusive partner because of that. So there are many situations that, giving enough details, I would label as "wrong". It's about the potential damage, not about any spiritual view.

Yes I do agree with that, consent that is not manipulation, tricked or other methods to get it. True consent without any blackmail or other methods then yes I believe as long as there is true consent and all parties (I think both implies two and I mean two or more) then it is fine.

Well, “consent” is a complex conversation. So including that word automatically compels an answer for which the question is improperly framed. Any sexual relationship, INCLUDING those where both parties are “consenting”, is dubious at best. I’ve come to understand that religions and cultures that valued chastity and abstinence had some mystical wisdom that the west is paying a steep price for ignoring.

Where I'm at, age of consent is 15 - which is something I simply can not justify. A grown as adult, should not be legally allowed to sleep with a child and yes, a 15 year old is a child.

You're a little right - I do not mind children expressing themselves in a way they desire as long as it isn't harmful for others. I along with majority - do not support children mutilate themselves, I have no idea where you're at but they do not teach beastailty in schools here.

In this case, the 15 year old would be of age to consent - by the laws mentioned so he'd have to pay immediately he can afford too - not 3 years later. And I don't know if you've comphrension issues - then I'm AGAINST the age of consent being at 15, so I'd say that woman should not be walking around if she was an adult and he a child.

The truth of the matter is that age of consent is here to protect children, so adults could no longer take advantage of said children - that women often were the victims during history of said issue, then of course feminsits took that issue at heart.
