You do exactly what you're doing: stay single until you are ready for a relationship! Just because they want to date doesn't mean you should! And if they were your real friends or cared for you, they'd understand that.

I wasn't interested in dating until my senior year of high school (17, 18 years old). My friends thought I was weird, a lesbian (because I didn't express interest in guys), or something was wrong with me.

Nope, I just didn't like any guys at the time. I rather read, study, and focus on myself than worry about relationships... and honestly that still holds true now that I'm older, lol
