I am into this guy and we are on and off. He is also friends with my best friend. Now my best friend knows our relationship. She know him and I fight often. No matter how many times we break up, she remains friends with him. When I’m with him she acts weird. She cheers on our relationship but when it comes to me spending the night at his house or hanging out with him at night she gets worried. Not just at night. She tells me it’s too dangerous to be out and I shouldn’t go. I have been with other guys before and she wasn’t this much with them I think. My boyfriend and I gotten into a fight and broke up. He said some harsh things to me and I told her about it. She got upset about the things he said about me and had a talk with him. She still remained friends with him and was inviting him out places. We got back together days ago and I went to his house last night. While I was at his house she was calling him and he showed me. I told her about it today and she was shocked. Not that we were together but that I went to his house after the harsh things he said about me. She’s been distancing herself with me and it always happens when I get back together with him after a fight.

It’s a messed up position that you two have placed her in. Instead of handling things amongst yourselves and keep her out of it, you both go to her for advice and treat her like a counselor that will fix things. Even if you don’t specifically ask her to talk to him, I think a part of you already knows that she will, same goes for him. It’s hard for her watching you get poorly treated and I’m sure she gets damn tired of hearing these stories and you going right back. It’s not a far stretch to say she’s losing respect for you but it doesn’t even matter when you aren’t even respecting yourself.

She has told me that she’s tired of being a damn therapist for both of us and tired of hearing these stories between us. I don’t know if he complains about me to her but I do ask for advice from her about him.

I don’t think you’re being very receptive of how she’s feeling, otherwise why keep putting her in the middle and deflecting from it? The worst part is that you probably tell her that the advice means a lot and that you’re listening, yet you keep going back to him, it’s like a slap in the face. You treat her like a wall to bounce your thoughts off of and not the person who’s sick of dealing with your drama. You should find another way to vent or handle your relationship and separate that from the friendship you have with her. It’s not fair to keep treating her like that and you know it. I’m sure your boyfriend vents to her as well and you wanna know what he says, which you probably have asked her as well. Like stop putting her in that position dude it’s wrong.

Sorry this is happening to you... You know bringing her into the dynamic was not a good plan. Those two only bond closer when they engage. It would not surprise me if you find out one day that they are dating or sleeping together. There's no way that the depth of these talks have not cause feeling between your man and her. Don't be surprised if by June that you are totally out and she starts showing up in places.
