Their marriage worked out the last time I saw them (8 years ago). I couldn’t imagine never at least kissing a man I was dating. I’d want to know if there was any chemistry. But it worked for them.

I would consider that to be very abnormal. Kissing is a means of showing affection for someone, and if you're going to get married, you're probably going to kiss before the big day.
