I have friends but they are not my true friends. At least I feel like it.

Wow I am in the exact same spot as you are. I completely understand you! But before I talk about my experiences, I would like to say that you are young. You still have a lot of life ahead of you and a lot of more interesting and exciting things to do and encounter. We have all been there when we thought, "I don't have anyone." By then we meet people and have good things happen.

I'm religious so skip this part if you're not interested, but I noticed the more religious I have become overtime the more good things have been happening to me. When before I was coasting through life and I noticed extremely rarely good things would happen.

So my experiences, I made a very unlikely friend at a job I was working at. She was very kind to me and opened my eyes to what it's like to have someone in your life where you guys are equal.

It was amazing because I was friends with someone before for 16 years. I would call her my sister (I never had a sister). But that wasn't a real friendship.

My 16 year friendship, it felt like the entire time she was jealous of me and always in competition of me. When good things would happen to me she wouldn't be happy for me and looking back, I bet she relished in my misery (not all but some of my misery).

I always overlooked everything because I knew she was coming from a messed up background with her family. But eventually enough is enough, how much is she going to use being a bad person to as a handicap and to justify that she literally doesn't deserve to be my friend? So I left.

The other friend I met from work we stayed friends for a while but eventually she also stopped replying to my text messages. I don't know what happened to her but nevertheless I am extremely grateful to her for opening eyes and showing me what a real friendship looks like.

If I didn't meet her, I would still be stuck in that other friendship thinking that it was normal. That 16 year friendship was basically my first friendship. But I'm not angry at any of them. I just want them to both be happy.

Right now, I am talking to two other people and they seem like my friend so far. But yeah there's always that part of you where you feel like you can't really be your true self you just keep it surface level with them. I don't want to overburden them. I have also God to turn to.

I don't think I'll end up alone. There is still so much for me to do. People to meet and situations to experience, hopefully mostly good ones. You should try to feel the same way!

But definitely don't feel bad for feeling bad, it's only natural. But know that when you feel bad/bad things happen, a good happy feeling/good things happen after. I hope I helped you feel better in some way.

You should try relaxation techniques, like deep breathing exercises and meditation, to help you manage symptoms. Examining the root cause of the fear. Learning ways to counter negative thoughts about being alone so you gradually understand that being alone isn't scary or dangerous.
Learn to love yourself and be OK with yourself... if you like yourself spending time alone is awesome.
Cause after you have a family and kids... lol that's not a option anymore.
I miss being alone some days.

I don't know, for sure. I've spent the bulk of my life alone so, even though I've been nearly 100% alone for the past 2 years (my ex-neighbor comes up once or twice a month to take me to the food bank or go shopping, and I'd LOVE to have SOMEONE come spend time with me at LEAST once a week, being alone hasn't been a completely terrible thing! I think it's partly because there's a bunny in the front yard that I toss a slice of bread to almost every day and I spend a lot of time here to combat being completely alone. At least I have SOME means of communication with the outside world, here!
I just got a new neighbor up here yesterday so, I can only hope we can be friends and that we can at least get together to play cards or something, once in a while. So far, I've only met her mother and she seems QUITE friendly so, that's a step in the right direction!
Most people up here have nothing to do with me! Some will at least wave and say hi when they go by but, so far, none have come to visit and I've been here for 3 years, now!
As for your "friends" I've had THAT most of my life, too!! They'd be cool to run around with outside and explore the area with but, it was like they'd only put up with me, partly so they could invited to swim in the pool but, even for years before we got the pool, they'd be buddy buddy in the summer and, in the winter, I'd e their main target for snowballs! TRUE fair weather friends to the fullest degree of the term!!
This, at least the first and last lines, has been my theme song most of my life!!

Sometimes but I am not all knowing and I don’t know if it’ll be as bad as I think it’ll be if I am as I have reached a point in my life before where I really liked being alone and I’m sure I can get to that mentality again I just need to re-find some passion in new goals/hobbies and then I can enjoy life again by learning growing and prospering like I used to before I knew the love of a woman

No. I often have to go offgrid to be "alone". In your case, it seems you have attachment problems, rather than fear of being alone.
