I have a sister n brother, so never really alone. I am fairly sure that I won’t be alone. The positive side is I am really great at talking to myself.

Not really. I'm at the point of my life where I've accepted I'm not going to find a relationship, and that's okay.

I have my friends, family, and a plethora of hobbies to keep me distracted. Better to be alone and happy, than trapped in a loveless, unhappy relationship/marriage just for the sake of saying you're with someone.

at times. after 50 years of single, I have an amazing wife and I'm very fortunate. I feel very good about us as we work so well together. But I do fear if I lost her before I leave this life, Id not have support. That encourages me work and pray for her security. Lacking kids of my own and step kids are young and will have their own lives for many years, can be very tough being older and alone. I know life gets harder as get older and need help when down or later in life. I saw that with my mother and father, relatives. Being youngest... I may end up being the last.

Thus I think about how to build support, community and I also feel for older people whom lack support. It's been hard to really connect with people at these ages, we don't bond like when kids. We humans used to live in communities that we knew for decades, we grew up with them. We could tap into those support networks of lifetime relationships. Some societies, like in Africa, groups come together to donate money for funerals and such... they are an extended family. We survived millenia by community. That has been lost as we "developed" and for so many, puts them into fear of real potential suffering. There's a reason "lonely"... feels bad.

I don't think life and hope is over at 30. For me, it was just getting started and I've seen so many find their first marriage 40+ including children. I would not let fear limit you, but continue working towards the life you want to attain. These are very old emotions, and they may not be true. You must separate the lies from the truths as you navigate forward.

You have to succeed in spite of the fears, challenges, obstacles... including the ones in your own self.

It's half over and I can't say I've ever been alone for more than a month or two, so nah. Whole life isn't even an option anymore even if I spent the next half alone.
