(Rant) I feel like sometimes my boyfriend is not serious about me?

Sometimes i feel like my boyfriend’s not serious about me… He’s never once posted about us on any of his social media accounts, and his parents also doesn’t know about me (or that he has a girlfriend).

Also, he once mentioned that he wanted to meet my parents (so i dont have to make excuses anymore whenever we hangout). I told my mom about him because of that. And now, my mom keeps asking me when she will meet him. I mentioned it to my boyfriend and he said that he’s not ready to meet them anytime soon. However, he also mentioned that he will meet them this month before we travel to Europe next month. He hasn’t mentioned anything about it until now, it seems like he’s not even planning to. I don’t wanna pressure him to meet my parents or anything but he’s the one to told me that he wanted to meet them in the first place. I wish that he was more honest with me.

Also I would have appreciated it if he did things that would make me feel special. It doesn’t have to be expensive you know? Like I’ve never received any flowers from him. And whenever he would ask me to go on dates he would always ask to split the bill. I have no problem with that but there was this time when I was a full time college student and didn’t have a job, while he was working full time.

No, you are not asking too much from him but he is definitely not serious about being in a relationship with you. Every single argument you give is a sign that he does not want to be in a serious relationship.

My honest opinion is that he is using you as a substitute until he found someone else that he feels he has a deeper connection. Every single point is a red flag and you should take them as such.

One does not want to meet the parents when one is hesitating about continuing the relationship. Meeting the parents means that the parents will have an opinion about the partner and he does not want to take that step because he knows that he will disappoint them.

Be wise and learn from all those negative points.

makes me wonder how long you two have been together. you are not asking for too much. this is what couples are supposed to do, share each other, tell their families about each other, and the fact that he's keeping you a secret is just really weird to me. i get some people keep things private but this is not just "private" this is "hiding".

you're right, he doesn't seem serious about you. he doesn't even make you feel special. not sure why you're still with him at this point. i truly think you need to move on. or at least tell him how you are feeling, everything you said here.
