Partner, ideally. Both if the partner doesn't know what to do/wants to involve you because they know you like it.

Personally, I'd like to contribute an activity idea (climbing, prolly), and an invite list. Everything else I want them to handle, because that's the real treat.

If I have to organize and plan, then attend and hear my partner brag about how they made it happen, I'm dumping them in front of all my invites.

The best birthday I’ve had was the one that my ex made for me as a surprise.

He can plan, I trust him on this.

2nd best birthday was when I was 21, my mom three a surprise party for me. Everyone I loved - was there. I was really happy.
