Difference between friendly and flirty?

I keep hearing that guys cannot be friends with a girl EVER, but I think some cases include guys who really are friendly. My coworkers tease me (they are older by 10 years and guys) but I'm sure they are being friendly because they are so much older and such. I need to know the difference between friendly and flirty in the way a guy exhibits behavior around a girl he likes, and one he views as a friend.

I know this isn't just me, but if a girl is attractive then I almost definitely don't want to be just her friend. If you are ugly then I almost definitely just want to be your friend (I know how incredibly shallow this sounds). So ask yourself which category you're in, if you are attractive then be very careful. This might be simple but if you catch a guy often looking at you then he probably likes you, if he hardly looks at you then he almost definitely doesn't like you. If he is shy just around you or just seems uncomfortable then he probably likes you. One big thing, if he doesn't try to make himself seem better and doesn't really care if he shows you lesser qualities about himself then he's just friendly. I don't get these guys' answers, am extremely friendly and I touch girls that I am not at all attracted to all the time, and am in no way a creeper (at least I like to think so lol). Teasing? come on guys seriously? I always tease girls it doesn't matter if am flirting or being friendly, you will be teased. The one I can agree on is if they are constantly around you they probably like you.

20s 30s 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s till death. All guys like girls in thier 20s.

Maybe the guys at your work know there is 0 chance of sleeping with you. This will make them behave, but they still want to, and given a chance they would jump.

first of all I have been friends with a girl for 3 or 4 years and there is no difference since some people are just super freindly and besides flirting is not universal (different people have different ideas of what flirting) the best thing you can do is what how they interact with other people and compare it to how they how they interact with you

that's not true, guys can definitely be friends with girls, it just depends on the guy..anyways for me, flirting includes light touching, being around you alot, always smiling. hopefully these guys aren't creepers though lol

Nah they're cool... I think of them as my older stupider brothers lol. Do you ever get so nervous that you forget to smile around a girl? Like you're so concentrated on what's being said that to forget to smile?

sometimes I concentrate on what I'm saying so much that the conversation goes by and I'm like what just happened haha, but I'm a generally happy guy so I probably smile when I'm mad..being nervous around a girl I would say something really stupid or stumble, but not forget to smile :)

Would you ever "invite" a girl to touch you to break the touch barrier or to have an excuse to touch?such as "High five" or "feel my shirt, it's so soft"

with girls that I consider friends most likely not, but to girls I am interested in yeah I'd break the touch barrier a bit, maybe by playfully bumping into her, etc, just to see how she reacts to it. but probably not in ways making her touch me since that's kinda weird for her.
