What was that like? How did you react? What did you do for them? How did you help them?

+1 yNo but I can tell you this. One of my favorite and most respected family members is my mother's cousin who is homosexual and who had the respect for his family to NEVER "come out."
He knew that it would be unwelcome and awkward news to some of the family and spared confronting us with that uncomfortable experience.
Everyone in the family knew he was homosexual. They did not have to have him "come out." He had the intelligence, courtesy and respect to realize that and spare his family that disservice. He is in his late 80s now and to this day I have great respect and admiration for him for that choice.
I think "coming out" is a selfish act that may relieve the person who does it of some kind of perceived guilt, but is not necessary or desirable for other people to hear. I see it as disrespectful.
Do as you wish with your sex life as long as it is with consenting adults, but keep it to yourself. It's your business and other people don't need to hear it.

+1 yMy husband. We knew each other when we were young. I’ve known I liked guys since I was around 12 years old and I was pretty open about it. So I was one of the first openly gay people that he knew at that age. I was the first person he was comfortable coming out to.
Now we’re married lol. And to this day, a lot of his family is convinced that I influenced him to be gay so they don’t like me💀
They didn’t really start accepting me into the family until very recently. Like a couple months ago… and we’ve been married for 4 years now so…

+1 ymy friend he told me he was physically hurt by his father so when he mentioned of going abroad through his sister i really encourage him to shift course even if we will not be together anymore. i can sense the joy of his father when i call on his home so yeah i would call my friend just so his father will believe that some girl is into his som. i sinply don't want him to get hurt. he also shared to me about his ex boyfriend and some things he went through it's a secret of course. one time he saw his ex while we were eatinh and i can really be crazy depending on who i am with so i pretend washing my hands to take a good look on the face of his ex boyfriend... his ex is handsome! we are just giggling together 😭

+1 yYeah in high school a friend of mine was scared to come out because her parents were very religious and we attended a Catholic school. I felt good being someone she could trust, made me feel like I was doing something right. We came up with a game plan, kind of slowly introducing the idea to test the waters. After a while she took the risk and told her mom. She freaked out, my friend came to stay with me for about a month, her mom came around. Her dad was always cool with it. They're no longer catholic, and are nos very out and proud parents. But that month where she was living with me and the hurtful things her mom said permanently harmed her relationship with her mom.

+1 yQuite some time ago, a confused friend consistently confided in me about his sexuality.
Eventually, I made him realize it wasn't necessary to "come out" and he embraced his manhood without regret.
He claims, to the contrary, that he would have regretted "switching sides" if he ever pushed through with coming out.
Today, he's married to a wonderful woman and they're both excitedly expecting their first child.

+1 yYes but not in a supportive way. It was more of “your wife deserves better and needs to know that you’re sleeping with men”. So i encouraged him to tell her and after he continuously bragged about having affairs behind her back, he finally did the right thing. In retaliation, she left him and his kids disowned him for cheating on their mom. I don't know if being gay had anything to do with their reaction but yea

Asker+1 yThat is really gross for sure. I knew of a woman that slept with women behind her boyfriends back. Why cheat...
- +1 y
Yea like even if its the same or opposite sex, the cheating is so unnecessary
Asker+1 yIt becomes worse when people don't view it as cheating. I saw a cut video where largely women were speaking about how seeing other people was simply "testing" things out. One of them said something along the lines of if it was a homosexual relationship, it didn't really matter.
I mean, I understand that women are far more likely to test out homosexuality than men, but still? Why use a community to excuse your own inability to stay honest with your partner.
Just seems to me that no one really puts the feelings of others into perspective.- +1 y
I never thought that was a real thing. I see questions on here all the time where people ask if people are concerned about bi people cheating MORE. In real life, i dont know people who think that it increases the chances of cheating because they like both. Cheating is cheating regardless of its with the same or not
Asker+1 yOh no, that isn't really what I mean't by that.
I am just merely saying its gross when people cheat, regardless of their sexual preferences.- +1 y
Oh no we’re saying the same thing
Asker+1 yJust wondering, are you the type who is comfortable talking about sexuality topics? I wouldn't mind having some people to talk with :)
- +1 y
Yea im cool with most of it. But you’re 18 and prob still in HS so thats kinda awkward
Asker+1 yI mean up to you! :) Just wanting someone to talk with.
No pressure
+1 yyes, my friend is bi and she’s really afraid if others know since she lives in traditional society. told her im asexual and was thinking my self a bi, then she confide that there’s a girl she’s attracted to.

+1 yWell, I have a female friend that told me she is Bi and most of her escapades. I loved her. Helped her. Stood with her.
We all have the battles we fight. As for me I found against incest, fornication, bestiality, molestations, becoming a pedophile, milf fucking, homosexuality and a few other stuffs. I won!00 Reply
+1 yYes. I helped my friend come out as bi to my parents. They just said "ok". They dont care lol..
10 Replyyes and my reaction, it didn't phase me in the least. i talked them through it and said you are who you are, your sexuality has no effect on who or how you are as a person.

Asker+1 yDo you think GAG is a good place to find people to talk to about those things?
+1 yI guess you could ask two of my ex boyfriends that 🤣

Asker+1 yOh no! What did you do? haha
- +1 y
Oh boy!

My first and second boyfriend are both gay now. I used to date men who were gay without knowing because they enjoyed the same things as me
- +1 y
They tend to look after themselves better themselves straight men and dress well and enjoy musicals and baking and there's me not realising.
Now I'm with a man whose definitely straight so don't worry
Asker+1 yI knew a guy who ran into that problem. Every single girl he dated ended up a full blown lesbian lol. People would always say something was wrong with him, because every girl he touched turned gay lol
- +1 y
Hmmm. What do you enjoy that gay men like?
- +1 y
@Guardian45 baking, fashion, pop culture, musicals, art, other men
- +1 y
Those sound like choices for picking a girlfriend rather than a boyfriend. Nevertheless, you can make wiser boyfriend choices; there ARE straight guys, who would enjoy at least SOME of those things.
Asker+1 y@Guardian45 the thing suggests to me they were never "straight"
Seems she was dating men who were openly bisexual, but leaned more gay.
Which, I mean, if you are a guy, and you date a woman that is openly bisexual, and had plenty of female partners.. Well, you run the probability of her going total lesbian haha.
But I do agree, plenty of straight guys enjoy baking, fashion, pop culture, musicals, art..
Not too hard to find.- +1 y
These relationships were whilst in high school and college so it was nothing serious and I think these guys had just not came to the realisation yet or were struggling with coming out.
I hold no resentment over the first guy, we were young, he really struggled even still does to this day as he thinks he's let down others buts a genuinely good person.
Second guy did me well and truly dirty. - +1 y
So then, are you finding straight, 'truly dirty' guys?
- +1 y
@Guardian45 no I've been in a 4 year relationship with man that I love very much and is very much straight since that
Asker+1 y@puppystarfish23 do you mind if I ask you some more questions?
- +1 y
Go ahead
Asker+1 y@puppystarfish23 Awesome! I posted some other questions you can answer? But also, I can just send you a message if you want?
- +1 y
Sorry I don't do private messages
Asker+1 yHmm, well maybe you can explain why far more women are LGBTQ than men?
For example, the most recent YRBSS shows that roughly 6% of males, and 24% of females are LGBTQ?- +1 y
I have no idea I'm not really qualified to answer that
- +1 y
How does your 4 year relationship guy compare to your 'well and truly dirty' second guy?
- +1 y
@Guardian45 a lot better then him. He's a man that guy was a scared boy
