My boyfriend lets guys disrespect him & I don't know how to feel or think about this. If money or items are borrowed with agreement of returning next day or within week. The problem is they just blow off returning it back and disregard him and any questions or promises made never taking him seriously and walk all over him and he lets them just saying there kidding or something the fact they disrespect him constantly and he just stays quiet and agrees that eventually he’ll probably get it.

Some women like to push guys into fights or taking a stand when the guy doesn’t really care about a situation. I always think that’s because the woman has never been punched in the face or because she doesn’t have any skin in the game. I have been in more fights than most but still have had girlfriend want to push me. I had one that had me go to a guys house and fight him on his lawn because he disrespected her. She and I eventually married and I am still pissed about that. (Yes, I won).

Women would not be like this if it were them getting punched in the face. Anyway, so what: some guys borrowed some stuff and haven’t given it back yet… that happens, a lot. Some guy put his stuff 6 inches over the line in our parking space and I didn’t care but wifey had me get in a confrontation over the stupid stuff. I did it just to shut her up!

She won’t even argue with a waiter, mechanic or anyone herself which as I think about it annoys me, stand up for yourself but pick your battles… and don’t pick someone else’s battles.

This is a huge red flag because if he lets others disrespect him, nothing prevents him for not having enough guts to fight for you should anyone disrespect you.

He will not voice any concern nor will he defend you if anything should happen to you. I see him as a people pleaser and as long as he does not have the courage to defend himself against those that disrespect him, he is not likely to ever want to intervene for others.

He does not like conflicts and prefers to downplay them rather than to face them. This gives him a reputation of coward and this is a burden to any relationship.

It's odd. Because you should care about your boyfriend, not send him to fight to get hurt. Imagine if he wanted you to fight with other people and get punched, kicked, killed, stabbed with knife, etc... Not so entertaining, is it? As a women you are viewing this problem from your very privileged position. It is easy when you act like general and send soldiers to their death. If you want fight so much then fight yourself.

But listen honey if he can't tell his friends shit, then he'll never tell anyone else a damn thing about disrespecting himself or you so I would either tell him to tell his friends, or bail. A guy who lets people walk all over him is not suited to raise family and children. It's not just a macho thing. A guy like that will let even his children walk all over him. That is a horrible father.

I think weak guy is a problem first because he does not protect women. So macho guys are awesome for sure with fighting abilities and muscles and mental strength. But I've been thinking over the years as a married guy that the bigger problem with a mentally weak guy who lets people walk all over him, and I think women can sense this, is that he is ill-suited to be a father. Like a woman who dates some skinny nerdy type of guy might only be able to hope for, at best, to buy her time to run away while he distracts huge guys with weapons killing him as she runs away. And that's not a practical and everyday scenario. But a guy who is weak and submits to everyone is definitely going to make a horrible dad spoiling his kids and letting them run all over him, and I think maybe that's why being a weak-minded man is so horrible even if the guy isn't Rambo.
