Does this sound like a difficult wife?

Her husbands family came round and he picked up food for them it was about an hours drive, the food was really burnt though and didn't look good so when he brought it, she looked at it and told him to take it back and he drove the one hour back to do that. Then she ordered from somewhere else. His family thought it was cruel.

I think when someone brings you a plate, you accept it and if you don't want it, throw it out, but never send it back. It's insulting even if it's gross, just toss it. He could have gotten you something takeout and nobody would have gotten hurt.

No it was takeout which he went to pickup but it was burnt and she told him to take it back to the restaurant so he had to drive an hour back to do that

Oh well I don't think I would have driven an hour back even if they messed it up. I would have just gotten something else local. It's too much to drive back.

She was angry when she said it and didn't let him get past the door, she looked at it then sent him back out the door, she was annoyed at the food being burnt I think and because he didn't bother to notice

She's a jerk in my opinion and he's weak to let her anger drive him to drive a whole hour back there. If she was only disappointed like a normal and kind person but appreciated his efforts and he volunteered to take it back himself, then that's a gentleman. But if she got angry and took it out on him and he felt pressured to go back there and did, then he's pussy-whipped and she's an asshole.
