My ex thinks that the instagram fake account that curses him belongs to me. Should I explain to him?

I ended our relationship 2 weeks ago. And today a fake account cursed him and he and his friends suspect me because I was the last person he ever argued with. This bothered me quite a bit. Do you think I should call him and explain? I'm sure he will believe me, but I don't know if it's necessary.

Just say “that account isn’t me” and leave it at that. If he doesn’t believe you then there’s no use trying to prove anything.

same thing happened to me back in high school. Someone made an account catfishing with their pics and they thought I was the one who made it cause we had problems.
