Do you call in first or just drop in when visiting someone? Would you rather them call you first before visiting?

I call first. My husband drops in on people. I mostly enjoy when friends drop by because it make me feel like they know they are always welcome, just as long as they don't have high expectations. My husband had this one friend that managed to only drop in on days when the house was a mess. The one day in a week! Over and over, it was so embarrassing to think he probably thought we always had a messy house.

If you drop by, you better let me feed you. My feelings get hurt if someone refuses food or drinks.

I rarely just drop in. I almost always call in advance to give them some warning, especially if they are not expecting me... I may just be in the area and want to stop by for a few minutes.

I really like em just dropping in , its kinda a nice surprise , only annoying is if I'm not here :) , but I dont run around changing things when people come , the door is open whether I'm here or not -- Wide OPEN ! hahahaha

Depends on the person I’m visiting. I have some people that I will just pop up on. And then others who I usually call first.
When it comes to my house, I expect everyone to call first. Lol

Opossums are free to stop by whenever. People I used to work with can stop by whenever. Many of them know the combo to the front door anyway. If we haven't bled together you should call first.

My best friend has an open invitation and even she calls before coming over. Anyone else shows up, he or she gets the "glare" and doesn't do it again.

All my friends are married with children, not intentional. I always notify them, I know what kind of burden it can be to show up unnonounced with chatic schedules, especially with kids, sports, recitals, ballets etc.. We always make plans to get together once in awhile, every 3 months or so, well planned out in advance.

We got a plan in the works now actually, I still run a D&D 2nd edition campaign for them & their kids. I'm just not sure if the campaign trail starts in the living room, the park, on a pontoon boat or in the middle of nowhere in a camp setting. We even talked aboit kyakking to the proper spot :p
