I unfollowed a guy I really like out of anger a week ago and really regretting it now. I’m scared of looking silly if I follow him back. As a guy if a girl did this would you think she is weird or desperate for coming back? Would it make you treat her badly knowing how weak she is for you? I just wanted him to show me he really cared which in hindsight I realise was immature and impulsive. Wish I can take it back but I can’t

We all make mistakes. It's part of being human. It is very easy to overreact out of anger and say or do things we don't mean.

Your best course of action? A sincere, honest apology. Start following him again and reach out to him. Explain that you stopped following him out of anger (and make sure to express what it was that made you angry). Let him know that after having time to calm down and think things over, you realize your actions were wrong and immature. Apologize for making such a hasty decision and apologize for any hurt you may have caused him.

If he likes you, he will likely understand and forgive you... especially if this was a first time offense. If you do this routinely, he will likely get fed up with it and cut you out. No one likes game playing when it comes to dating. If you're regularly flying off the handle and handling your anger in immature manners such as unfollowing/blocking and unblocking someone, the other person isn't going to deal with that. Instead of reacting drastically to your anger, wait. Get mad, but don't do anything spur of the moment like send a rude message or block/unfollow someone. Give yourself time to calm down, then reevaluate the situation. Your thinking is a lot more logical and clear once you've calmed down.

If someone makes you mad, upsets you or hurts your feelings, talk to them. Don't yell or insult them back. Have a mature conversation about what happened. Let them know how you feel and why their words or actions made you feel that way. You will likely be able to work something out without being dramatic or fighting. They may not even realize how their actions, words or lack thereof impacted you. This will help them see things from your perspective and work on correcting certain behaviors in the future if needed.

Well, what would be achieved if you added him again? Was he alleviating your insecurities and doubts? Would he do that going forward?

He took over 24 hours to respond to my message and when he finally did he just continued with the conversation instead of saying sorry I was busy etc. and I just unfollowed him without even thinking

That’s one of my biggest deal breakers with men, when they take ages, even days to respond only to pick up the conversation. By that time I’m not even interested in what was being discussed and feel burdensome. Anyway I know you’re regretful and maybe even panicking but just take a step back for a second and look at the bigger picture. Sure you could call it hasty or impulsive to block him but you did it because you didn’t feel like he was truly interested. To me, a man’s desire or disinterest in prioritizing you says a-lot about his intentions. Underneath it all this dude doesn’t seem very eager to talk, and that leaves you two stagnant and making no progress. It would only be the same if you re-added him, but worse because now he’ll be feeling some type of way that you blocked him. Assuming he’s even noticed yet.
