No. I like snakes. I had several for pets when I was a kid. I'm thrilled when I find one in my yard. Except for rattlers, which are the only venomous snakes we have here. The ones we have here aren't aggressive or very large. I catch those and relocate them to another part of our property away from the house. They mean no harm and I'm glad to have them out there eating vermin.
I've found a couple of gopher snakes sunning themselves on the road over the years. I rescued them from getting run over and brought them home to release in our garden. They are quite passive.
The first time was shortly after my wife and I moved here. I brought it home and called her to come outside.
She wasn't happy to see me holding a snake, but I showed her that it was friendly. I had her touch it to see that it wasn't slimy. Then I held its head up next to her cheek and it gave her a little snakey kiss with its tongue. I said "Awwww, it loves you." LOL She decided that she wasn't afraid anymore, even though she still doesn't love snakes as much as I do.
She can even recognize rattlers, now.
One time, I stepped off the last step of our front porch and heard a loud hiss. I jumped six feet. When I turned around, it was an adolescent gopher snaked coiled up in striking mode like a rattler. It was taking deep breaths, inflating its body, and releasing it in long hisses. I had never heard a snake hiss before except in movies.
Then I saw my cat and realized why the snake was so upset. The cat had been trying to kill it. So I bent down to pick it up to move it someplace safe from the cat.
It struck at me. I reached a few times and it struck at me each time. I finally crooked my forefinger and held it out. The snake grabbed hold. It didn't hurt. Alligator lizards can pinch harder than a gopher snake.
With it occupied, I picked it up with my other hand. It finally released me and I carried it to a safe place.

No, though I might if I found out in a sudden and unexpected way. If I come over to visit for the first time, and try to sit down at the table only for a giant cobra to pop up and start hissing at me, that might freak me out.
That has been a debate if we can get as pets. Since it’s the only pet we can keep long term without daily feeding. I think they can go for a month after a good feeding.
but hubby said no.
I like snakes or any kinds of animals. I feel bad that snakes are portrait as evil.
When my kids were in 4-5th grade, we went to a middle school fair. A science school had kids demonstrating some of their animals. I took my kids to feel, touch the snakes… took them a few minutes to get over the fear.
a few years later we were in St. Augustine. A man had a few snakes in the street… my kids were allow to play and had them wrapped around their necks, arms… now they are not afraid of snakes! I’m glad they are not ruined by media.
mom not familiar with the names.
Nah. My husbands family raised and sold them for a while, but when we got married he didn't continue helping them. Except for occasionally we would go to exotic animal shows to sell them, which was fun. I wouldn't be a fan of having one in my house long term though.

I think it would be cool to have a pet snake, so long as they don't put it around my neck.
Nope, wigglers are cuties. I would be confused why my girlfriend makes duckface kisses when showing off the wiggler though. Stop stealing the spotlight from the wiggler!
not at all
The short in that second picture is scary disgusting
Yes. I'm really really scared of snakes. I could never date someone that owns one.
I think it would be cool. I don’t care to own one myself but i wouldn’t mind my partner having one. As long as he takes care of it lol
