Am I over thinking?

I feel like I’m the one that always has to ask my boyfriend to hang out or go on dates. Most of the times we’ve hung out, I am the one that asks to hang out, even as simple as FaceTiming where he can just pick up the phone and call me, I have to do that too. He’s leaving to camp and we’re not gonna have any contact for a month and once again, I asked him to hang out which he canceled on anyways, didn’t even tell me why, didn’t even ask to FaceTime. I just want time with him before he leaves but it seems like he doesn’t even want to see me. I don’t know if I’m just overthinking…

I get the feeling that this relationship matters more to you than it does to him. Maybe things were different in the beginning, but once you get to this point where you can almost feel him pulling away and he’s stop trying or making effort, then the relationship just needs to be done with. I’d say to talk to him, but about what? You’ve got this immature teenage boy who has no idea how to be in a relationship and no desire to prioritize you, and you can do better than that. I’d say to use this time apart to do some real thinking about what comes next. If this is the summer before you start college, leave him behind and mingle with some actual adults in school. You’ll be floored by the maturity.
