Iv always been 100% honest with every detail and its not always good. I nearly lost my boyfriend because I went into detail about my ex's etc. He didn't need or want to know how big my ex's penis was lol. I learned and don't do that anymore. Just the big and important things.

There are a few types of secrets:
Those that are hiding your cheating actions (wrt your marriage vows).
Those that hide information from your spouse because you do not trust them financially.
Those that would be of no benefit to your spouse if he/she knew; and in fact knowing them might create more stress and do more harm to your relationship.

First one shows you are pathetic.
Second one means it is not a healthy relationship.
Third one is perfectly fine.

A couple is two people. Yes, they share things together but they are two distinct people, and they don't share everything. Some secrets are okay between them.

Secrets is never healthy because it can sabotage trust in a relationship. There is a difference however with things you haven’t told your partner about you than keeping a secret and hiding it from them on purpose.

In my relationships, at least the long-term serious ones, that's how I prefer it. But I wouldn't say there "should" be no secrets. Some opinions, for example, don't NEED to be said, and some of them can even cause emotional pain, insecurity, and other negative things or feelings. So I can see some relationships not wanting EVERYTHING to be known, but in mine, I'd like them to be. Maybe with very, very few exceptions (like, which of my friends she might find attractive). But if there's like an article of clothing I like that she wouldn't normally say she doesn't like, I'd like for her to tell me, as an example. I think in most cases, it's beneficial to not have secrets between one another, to let everything be known and understood. But that's not for everyone.

I don't think you should hide things from your partner. But I don't think you have to share EVERY thought in your head with your partner either. You may get married and be together for 100 years. But regardless you still always be 2 separate people.

I would say it depends on how much they´re open to share also I don´t think it´s good to make people share everything right away because a relationship and also the development of trust takes time.
