Is it a red flag that my boyfriend yelled at my friend for a safety reason?

So me and my boyfriend invited a friend of mine and her boyfriend to a daily boat trip with my boyfriend as a captain, as it was his father's boat. As we were diving from the boat, my friend was trying to push me from the boat for fun, from a dangerous spot though, as I was just above the ladder, which is moving and If I fell into the sea, I could easily get hit by the ladder. So, as my friend was trying to push me , my boyfriend yelled "hey hey no, don't push her! She will get hurt!!" a few times. So after that she didn't push me, but seemed quite upset. I'm worried if she got upset with my boyfriend and if this is a red flag of him. He is a generally calm person and never offends me in any way.

Nah, it sounds like he was attempting to prevent an emergency. That's chill. As long as he stopped yelling as soon as you were out of danger then it's all good unless it somehow scared you or triggered you in some way. (In that case you might want to speak to him about how to manage emergencies in a way that's safe and effective for both of you.)

She was probably more upset at the embarrassment of having almost hurt you than him yelling.

No what he did was good she should thank him. But I know myself if some guy yelled at me id problaby cry so even if she got upset she could just thank him once she has called down

Are you seriously asking if him being more concerned about your safety than your dumbest friend's feelings is a red flag? If he's captain of the boat he is responsible for the safety of everyone on board and your friend should feel bad for acting like an idiot. If she's going to make a big deal about this you should seriously reconsider if having her in your life is in your nest interests.

That is absolutely NOT a red flag. If anything, it's more of a problem for someone to take issue with him yelling than it is for him to yell.

I honestly dont know
