What do men look for in their late 40's, is it a fling or a serious relationship?

it varies greatly from guy to guy. plenty want something serious. plenty want something unserious. then there is a large and growing amount of us that would rather no one. on top of that is his likely prefference for someone under 30. you may have slim pickens to work with.

They are looking for peace and quiet so if you're one of those women that 'need to be handled' you may be out of luck. But you should also bear in mind that if he has looked after himself, he will probably have a big age range of women potentially interested.

I'm sure some just want a fling, and some are looking for a life partner.
You just need to talk to them about it.
I didn't get married again until a few years ago.

Different guys will have different goals and objectives. But in my experience, men are often more amenable to a long term relationship when they reach their 40's.
