We were having a conversation about infidelity. He goes if I found out you were cheating I would hurt you and him. I’m not sure if this is red flag or a normal response.

Sounds like a red flag to me, the fact that he said he would hurt you instead of saying something else like we are done and you will not see me anymore type of response

This guy isn’t the kind of guy you want to be in a relationship with. Imagine what would happen if he ever perceives something you do as a sign of cheating, and gets aggressive even though you’re innocent. My advice, run. Don’t walk, run.

No man, or person for that matter, should ever threaten with physical harm as a response to a hypothetical situation. His response shows lack of self-control and is completely toxic as well as very scary.
