This is like asking whether people with dogs or cats have greater chances of staying together. The likelihood is more closely related to the communication and teamwork between them than where they are living. Is there mutual consideration and respect? Do they prioritize their own sense of entitlement, or do they focus on what they bring to the relationship? Have they implied one thing and done another (bait and switch)? Does the shade of their skin or the color of their hair or their music preference determine the likelihood of a relationship succeeding? Focus on the truly relevant aspects when determining the likelihood of something happening. Otherwise, we'll choose our stock portfolio based on the number of letters in the company's name or the color of their logo.

This is a bit complicated, statistically. Those that avoid moving together before marriage are often traditional and religious and these tend to stay together longer. However, this is not an effect of not moving together already. If a non-religious person tried to copy this one thing it would not have any effect as it would not make them religious at the same time.

Moving together is a test for the relationship and can often lead to breakup. Once this test has been passed before marriage it will help keep the relationship stable.

A different issue is that the marriage is then going to happen later and is also less likely to happen at all given that there is less of an incentive for marriage (traditionally for the guy).

I cheated and asked Google bard who tells me that various observational studies from reasonable sized pools do not all agree and some find no correlation at all.

Although, I hear good things can come from arranged marriage, as an example, which to me implies no living together before hand (and not even knowing them), personally, I'd want to move in first, see what they are like to live with, then marry. And that's what I did.

Marriage does not have to be a big step if you already have a strong relationship setting. How would you behave if you knew for a fact that they would still be there in 50 years time?

Unpopular opinion.. Once sex slowly get bored before marriage couple fall more faster than marriage couple. In marriage you have other responsibilities too.

Im not sure of thats true or not. I moved in with my husband prior to marriage and we are struggling. We are not divorced but we are struggling on some days to get along.
