Is it bad that I'm in my late 20s and I'm not interested in dating or getting married?

I've dated a lot. Had a lot of relationships. I'm at a point where I want to stay single. I don't think I want to date or especially get married. It's not like something bad happened to me that made me choose that route. It's more like I find happiness by being by myself instead of being with someone. I feel like women have to want relationships and always be in one or married for that matter. Like personally I never really wanted kids.

Much of why women historically married was because it was the only way to gain access to property or money.

Nowadays, we don't need to marry to have rights in much of the world.

Being on your own is a very valid lifestyle if that's what you want.

Personally, I'm content if I never have a partner. I'd like one, but I'm not about to suffer a bad one - especially not because it's socially expected for women to wed.

It's not the 1950s. We have a right to live for ourselves. Exercise it.

Being single is very relaxing, peaceful, empowering.

Being single enables you to fully love yourself the way you are, putting yourself first,

enjoying your own company unapologetically, be yourself without the need to explain yourself to anyone.

No stress, no drama, no tears, no disappointments, no betrayals.

It’s just you and you know you’ve got yourself does not matter what.

I don't think it's completely bad especially if u don't want kids.

In my case, I'm 27 and have been single for nearly 5-6 years. Being single for a long time can make you feel estranged from love, but I still find myself wanting it at times. 🤷

I mean... it's probably not great to forego the biological imperative to reproduce, but I don't think anyone would blame you for not being interested in modern dating.

Not really. Everyone wants something different out of life. I would suggest you freeze your eggs now in case you change your mind later.

Bad for who? As long as you're up front about that and not wasting a guy who does want to get married's time there's nothing wrong with that.

Don't try to live the life the world says is right for you. You'll regret it at some point.
