There’s nothing wrong with being protective. But there’s a fine like between that and being overprotective. Controlling someone’s social life, what they wear, what they eat, where they go, and then excusing it by saying that you’re just being “protective” is considered abusive. You can be protective of someone without controlling their life.

Well overprotective doesn't necessarily mean toxic or bad. It's good to be so because it means you care but it's important to know the difference between protective and toxic.

intimidation, threaten or scare the daughters boyfriend or tell her she can't have a boyfriend or talk to guys or keep doing the first thing repeatedly

Well that's kinda toxic and I do not recommend it you can tell her you care for her safety and explain to her why it's important to be careful but if you force a kid to do something they will just do the opposite
