Annoyed and irked. I'm not a child nor do I believe myself to be defenseless. I believe brb in protecting and de defending your loved ones, but overprotiecting is signaling to me that you assume I'm weak and can't handle my own, which is demeaning to me and I would talk to him about it

I love my boyfriend being overprotective. He's cautious about my health and safety, as I'm forgetful and I do dumb stuff a lot. He takes care of me. He gets jealous sometimes too but it's not top difficult to handle that, I usually just introduce him to the guy he's jealous about n let em do their thing, usually while gaming or something.
Now if you're guy is controlling, that can be an issue.

Being protective is nice... over protective often means not giving space or not allowing you to make your own decisions as they know best... overprotective can be controlling...
