Why is there this trend for certain kinds of women to say "we don't owe you our emotional labor" while expecting us to deal with their craziness?

Seriously they will say things like that, then expect us to be there for them emotionally. It goes right along with the double standard women have where they say " I'm perfect the way I am but you had better be ready to fundamentally change for me if I want you to" and so on.

The way I see it is we need to be there for each other. My wife and I are there for each other, but tons of women feel like they are entitled to their man's emotional support and the like but the moment he needs the same they turn to the "I don't owe you my emotional labor" attitude and leave.

I just thank God I married someone who believes the truth about marriages, that it is hard work and a two way street and that we need to support each other..
