My 2 year’s situationship unfriended me?

So the guy I liked for two years moved to another country earlier this year. After moving, he would text me and suddenly ghost for a few days, sometimes for a month. But we kept talking. not as much as before though. He started texting me again lately and we were talking every day for the past 10 days but this morning he suddenly unfriended me on Snapchat so I checked his Facebook ( were not friends on Facebook or Instagram) , turns out he’s been in a relationship for 3 months lol

why did he kept texting me and he should’ve not lol and why didn’t he unfriend me 3 months ago lol why today lol
