Found the love of my life, but she already committed to working on a cruise ship for months. How do I manage?

Met a wonderful woman at one of my bands shows. She was volunteering and we hit it off right away. We spent almost every day together the entire summer.

The unfortunate thing was that she told me on our second date that she was leaving to work on a cruise ship in September.

We never put a label on us and even though a few times over the summer she said it would be easier for both of us to not continue to see each other, but then the next day would come and we’d want to be together.

We both met one another’s family and I know that we are in love and meant to be, but I had to let her go.

Im not interested in seeing other women, and I just want to keep bettering myself until she gets back. We still talk every day and I do want to find a way to come and see her periodically.

any other advice would be helpful, especially if anybody has a simile experience.

If she's doing this job only temporarily things can still work after she comes back but if she plans to do it long-term you should probably find someone else.

Let her know that you will hold out for her as long as you want, if you can.

I learned from friends who have worked for cruise lines that ocean liners are stressful & tiring environments for cruise workers. There's no time for romance and it's discouraged among co-workers and with passengers. You can at least have that peace-of-mind that she won't be seeing another man while she's on board.
