My fiance and I have about a 16 year age gap. Now that I am preparing our wedding a lot of guys my own age have got angry and upset over the fact that I am enaged to a smart , sweet intelligent men in his 40s. I don't understand , Why? I've seen with some of my other friends who happen to be married to mature guys in their 40s guys my agebstart to get angry about it and complain. Are 30 year old guys jelous at a men in his 40s for having everything together?

+1 yA lot of guys our age went through their twenties having all the girls chase after guys in their thirties. So we worked like crazy through our thirties to get established, only a lot of us have never had the ability to get established. Seeing you go after a guy in his 40s is probably being seen as a repeat of that situation, which could be seen as kind of a slap in the face.

What are you jelly that a 46 year old isnway much better than you more mature hebisnthe men ofnthe house can makenhis own choices without going asking mommy first. Something you 30 year old men child still go after momma.

“only a lot of us have never had the ability to get established.”
And why is that? What is it that the generation before you did that you aren’t doing yourselves? - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill He is just jelous still living under mommas roof.
- +1 y
@alwayreckles93 @WhiteBoyChill Lmfao relax; I'm a lawyer. I'm doing great. My generation just got it's ass kicked by crippling education debt and a failing economy.
- +1 y
Probablyclueless and I was General manager now I own a bridal boutique.
- +1 y
No, I think its more just people making poorly planned decisions that leads to debt.
Why take on money you can’t pay back? - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill We didn't know that we wouldn't be able to pay it back. At the time we were thinking about college, the knowledge that getting a degree barely opens any doors for you wasn't commonly understood. We were told by EVERYBODY that the way you make it in life was getting a college degree. The recipe was "get a 4-yr degree, get an internship, and that would get you a job." If you really wanted to guarantee yourself a job, you'd get two internships. We got these degrees thinking that we could land jobs in our chosen fields and pay everything off.
In reality, hiring managers would look at your internships and laugh in your face, and you'd rarely even get your foot in the door. That's a lot of why Millennials have such a chip on our shoulders and seem to feel like we're entitled to things. We were lied to and want to recieve what we feel like we earned. - +1 y
I don’t care how you try and justify it.
Blaming other people is the textbook definition of people not wanting to admit failure. Its still common sense to
1) see how much a career pays before deciding on it
2) see how available jobs are in that profession - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill Dude, that information wasn't available back then the way it is now.
- +1 y
Probablyclueless That is because you made poor money choices. Buying all this fancy stuff going partying. With time that adds up all those credit cards. We are bought th samenage and I am debt free something you never see in people our generation age category. It had taken me a decade to buildt my wealth.
- +1 y
Sometimes it's a poor money choice, other times it isn't. I don't have much debt either, by the way.
- +1 y
@ProbablyClueless Yet the generation before you still managed to figure it out with even less resources available
- +1 y
Probablyclueless what do you own? I own a paid off home. A paid off Dodge Ram truck and I spend my younger years building wealth in orderfor that to happened I would takesomeone else shift. I mist funerals weddings, family gatherings at the end ofthe day family does not care ifyou got the cash to pay fornyour bills so why worry about family.

But someone else with a difference like years or Thier life together!
Really older guys are smarter and usually more together why date a 35 year old boy?
12 Reply- +1 y
You are correct older guys are more smarter then guys our age. I realized how men our age generation act still like little boys. A 35 year old guy has the mindset of a 19year old boy.
- +1 y
At best 19 so if course they can't control their dumb feelings any and shie how jealous they are

+1 yIf I recall, you used to get pretty worked up about younger women dating older guys.

Yeah well I realized most guys my age are all childish mommas boys. I just give a guy from my congergation a chance. I realized I was blind foulded. Huge huge difference. I change my mind now. No wonder why , I dont blaem them now for doing so. Who wants to date a men child.
- +1 y
Well, I imagine the people your age that are upset are blind folded too. You don't need their approval.

What happen is at that timenI have given up on relationships. I wasn't even looking forba relationships. My fiance friend at that time we were at this church gathering and by accident he drop some ice tea on my dress he was embarrassed about it a week later he ask me out for a coffee and with time I developed feelings for him.
- +1 y
Perhaps I shouldn't judge them. Yeah, my fiance he is a very devoted christian he does deliverance on people and house blessing. When I got divorce I did noticed that guys my age weren't really that religous they were kore focus of wordly things. I wanted a devoted christian husband I did pray and fast ed. Honestly I was even looking for a relationship I just tought youknownwhat I don't need a guy as I was looking forna guy my own age. I attended thisbchurch gathering it all stated with that ice tea and now were engaged. I was so word ad yes I do take my words back I did realized Iwas wrong and as achristian I shouldn't bejudg8ng people as tht isn't my job.
- +1 y
*wasn't even looking
- +1 y
It sounds like you found the right guy! Maybe the negative people should mind their own business.
- +1 y
I am learning to just ignore them. When I was going threw hard times with my exthy knew my divorce none ofthem even offer to help or a simple text or phone call. I remember my grandmother teach me at the end of the day people will not care if their friend is sick or if they havebfood on the table. I learn in hardtimes you find out who yourntruebfriends are. I just block them.
- +1 y
Yes my fiance is a blessing honestly. I was wrong before.
- +1 y
You're right about that! My husband and I went through a difficult financial crisis. No one even offered us a box when we lost our home. All those "friends" were no where to be seen when we needed a shoulder to cry on. They were abundant when they needed our help though!
- +1 y
I am sorry you and your husband had to go threw that. They did even bother to call to check and see if you and your family needed anything. Or at least bring some groceries to you. But they only call you when they needed a favor?
- +1 y
Yep. We cut ties with all of them.

+1 yAll I can say is, I’m just surprised they go for younger women instead.
At 30 years old, a guy should definitely have himself put together.
But I cannot even begin to describe how damaged most of the girls my age are.
I’m just surprised they’re settling for absolute skanks instead. But I guess trash people like other trash people.

+1 yThere is no harm with dating a person is 10 years younger 20 years younger. But when it comes to 30 and 40 years younger hi I'm dating somebody's grandchildren. You go for a girl that's all I say it's nothing wrong with it in my book.
