What makes you think that they have true love? Just because she hasn´t filled for divorce I don´t think that´s a sign of "true love"?
But answering your question I would say because guys and girls nowadays prefer avoid trouble and having to work out a relationship in bad times. People nowadays just look at the good sides of a relationship but they don´t have a plan for the boring times and hardships of a relationship. So when it gets hard they leave.
