I've always had "access" to my partner's phones but never their passwords... and if they were handed to me, it was for a reason... not because I was doing anything behind their back nor shady... lol

I don't think it's okay. Just because you're in a relationship with someone doesn't mean you own them. People are still entitled to have some privacy despite being in a relationship or married. Me and my husband don't have each others passwords we're serious about our marriage and trust each other my parents don't sneak into each other's phones or social media either cuz there's no need.

Depends on the people. If your partner is comfy with it, sure. If they're not, you have to respect that.

If that shatters your relationship, it certainly wasn't gonna last. Password or not.

i guess it depends on the purpose of the access. my wife knows my password. i know hers. but if i found she was snooping i would have an issue with it because it would indicate a lack of trust
