People generally see what they want to see or what they fear seeing. It's common to be too impulsive and impatient to take the time to get to truly know the person before investing. We see or hear things that remind us of a previous feeling, and we then project that previous feeling onto this new stranger.

My deepest love experience I eventually discovered was just a projection from my mind and not who she truly was in reality. It wasn't until she showed me her true face, many years later, that I was able to let go. I still find myself fantasizing about the feeling, but I no longer attach her to those feelings.

Typically thats how it starts right? The imagining of how great the potential is. No one wants to see the probability of thenigs never working like that. Even though every single turn of event in life never goes how we interpret, we still hold to this perfect idea of someone like you're sensing through a magic chrystal ball. I think there's truth to it though, just gets foiled from the reality of other people existing. I truly wish time could stop and I could have moments completely alone with some people.

Yes totally, the first thing I see in a girl is the potential she has;that’s why no matter if others percive one beautiful as long as that one doesn’t have potential even the beauty is shallow if there is some in it;Actually in your description you say we fall for the fantasy while the reality is different but the truth is that potential is how far that person can go and while that person hasn’t reached there yet at least he or she can while someone without much potential has already stagnated and can’t go further so it’s safe to say that this fantasy isn't the same with a fantasy that can't ever happen but instead requires time!!

One hundred percent I fell hard very quickly a few years ago for a work friend that I had been working with for three years before we hooked up we both fell hard for each other very very quickly from work friends to spending a lot of time together it lasted one year during that year she was diagnosed with two mental health diagnosises that contributed to the end of our fling and boy there were good times but towards the end many many bad ones, now I look back at it and I think that a lot of my feelings for her weren't coming from my heart more from my head.

This is very common when two people meet online. They only have limited information about each other, but oftentimes they feel like they are "in love". I think the brain fills in the gaps of the unknown about the other person. So, yes, I think being in love with the idea of someone is a thing. Not realistic, but it happens!

Yeah i used to project often and its not good. It means im not listening to who they truly are inside.

and this is also a problem i run into with dating too. The girls seem to have this fantasy of who i am rather than listening to me. All in all its not a good thing and im wary if it happening again.

Yes. I think it's something we all experience at some point. Isn't that what we call "a crush"?
The thing that is an issue here is that the falling in love with the idea of being with someone is pure attachment and not connection.
