Why do family think it is okay to show up to your home uninvited and without even making contact to let you know they will be coming?

These are people who would get pissed if you turned up to their home uninvited and without first calling to ask if you can visit. Yet they refuse to respect your wishes and boundaries when you tell them they cannot come to your home uninvited and without first calling.

people nowdays dont seem to respect others' boundaries and privacy. in my opinion if they can let you knoe even only 5 mins before they should, i personally hate guests that come unannounced and im expected to serve them. if i lived alone id make sure evryone knew to message me beforehand. sure i get it sometimes can't give u a heads up, or people just want to meet spontaneously, or give u a surprise, etc, but all the time? NO. and especially people im on formal terms with: i probably wouldn't even open the door 🤣 but seriously, its annoying. ANY headsup, even a 5 min one prior should be given, noone is that occupied that they can't drop u a call or message beforehand when theyre on the way

You can understand where I am coming from. It's seems others don't. They know I have a baby. I also live in a rental and with them showing up the way they are, the agent or even the owner will start to question if they live here and if they believe they do, my rent will be put up.

These are people who if anyone dared showed up to their home uninvited and without first calling, they would snap at you. Yet they show up uninvited to other people's homes and when you say something they still do it.

I wouldn't be able to tolerate such double standards from people; if they would snap at me for coming over unannounced why shouldn't I tell them it bothers me too? Next time let them know and be open and calm about it. You have a baby to look after for God's sake. Even without a baby it's rude to come over like that. Can't they message you even a few mins prior, or do their phones magically stop functioning on the way to your place? Be upfront about it. Your place, your rules. Don't let others disturb your peace. :)

If someone is welcome at my house they can show up anytime. My friends have free access to all of my properties.

This is the thing. If anyone dared showed up to their home uninvited and without first calling. They would be going off. Yet they think it is okay to do this to other people. They aren't paying my bills or rent and they know I also have a baby. I also live in a rental property and if the realestate agent or even the owner sees them constantly showing up, they will start to believe they live here and than my rent will be put up.

Just because they are family it doesn't give them the right to just show up especially when they will go off at you if you do that to them show up at their home uninvited and without first calling. They aren't paying my rent and bills. I have a damn baby as well. It doesn't give them the right or anyone the right to come here uninvited. Don't give a damn if they are family
