My boyfriend broke up with me and moving away?

My boyfriend broke up with me because I have been critizing him on the weekend over his flaw. He mentioned he would stay in Maine with me so we can date and won't move. Then he changed his mind and told me his passion and wanted to move to NC for his dream job and wanted me to come along. I told him he wasn't being honest and among other flaws.

Then he came back and apologized for what he did and try to make amend. He said he wanted to go to NC and wished I come along with him. We currently lived in Maine. I told him I dont see myself in NC can we compromise somewhere else. He said no his dream job is there. Then I told I no I dont think I can do that and told him goodbye.

I gave him another option the only way I will move is when we get engaged and he said yes.

I didn't expect him to say that. I am not sure if he is just saying that to applease. I am not sure if I make the right decision in that proposal.

I am not sure what should I do next? I am not sure if I see myself with this guy for life after what he did.

Dude, this whole situation sounds really messy and complicated. A few thoughts:

- Your ex definitely shouldn't have lied and changed plans on you like that. Not cool to blow hot and cold.

- Moving that far for a new relationship is a big commitment, especially if you've already had doubts. Can't blame you for not wanting to take that leap.

- An engagement doesn't necessarily fix underlying issues either. Getting tied down legally won't magically make you compatible if you're not feeling it.

- His actions show he's not willing to compromise for you. In a good relationship, both people have to be willing to meet in the middle sometimes.

- You have to go with your gut here. If in your heart you don't fully trust him or see a future, dragging it out will just make it messier.

My advice would be don't rush into getting back with him or moving just to please him. Take some space to really think if this is what you want long term. An "engagement" promise may not mean much if the connection isn't truly there. You gotta do what feels right for you.

The guy asked to to come along with him on his way up in life which shows he's serious about you, but you are mad at him because you don't want to move? You would rather not move and have him lose this opportunity? You sound like the most selfish person, you don't give a shit about him and only care about what you want. Let him leave, he deserves a better woman than you.
