My manager is leaving and still doesn't want to add me or I guess others to her social media?

So me and my female manager used to get along very well i always felt like friends with her, but she never accepted any friend request from her employees while working. Now she is leaving and still said its her private account and probably will never accept a friend request only can communicate from linkedin. She always was very secretive and shared very little of her private life. Why do you think she doesn't want me or others on her social media even though she won't be my manager? Is that a normal practice?

It's very normal for managers even those who eventually leave to not want employees and former employees as friends on social media. Just because you get along, it doesn't mean she considers you a friend. Let her be and accept her wishes
