Why people always treat rejection personally?

How do you not take it personally? Most people believe that there must be something wrong with them in order for them to be rejected, otherwise why would they get rejected? How else are you supposed to take it if not personally?

It also depends on who you’re rejecting. Some people take it to heart no matter what the reasoning is for their rejection. And some people respect your decision.

I have no idea. For me, I don't mind being rejected cause it's the other person's choice if they want me or not. And if not, then I respect their decision.
